Beeswax Block

Hand-poured beeswax, locally sourced from Huff's Honey Farm in Trout Run, Pennsylvania and stamped with the Approved Textiles mark. (25g)

For sashiko and all hand sewing, beeswax has long been used to strengthen and smooth natural fibers. A few passes across the wax helps calm flyaways, reduce tangling, and support more consistent stitching. For deeper absorption, gently press waxed thread with a warm iron through a cloth—allowing the wax to move into the core of the fiber.

A small, traditional step that makes a noticeable difference in how the thread moves in your hands. We love the return to working with natural fibers as they are, rather than forcing them to behave like synthetics.
